Go Wild In The Woods Reveal your wild side and develop your woodland survival skills at The Parks Trust’s Woodland Wonders event. Join park rangers, on Sunday 16 November from 12.00-3.00pm, to explore the tree-mendous trees of Shenley Wood, how to survive in the wild, learn more about traditional woodland crafts and join a guided walk to discover more about leaves, trees and woodlands. The Woodland Wonders event will include a variety of traditional crafts, including pole lathing and making walking sticks as well as the more modern craft of chainsaw carving. You’ll be able to make fire through friction, a whistle to call for help in emergencies and create string from the natural resources around you.

MK YMCA Organise Open Charity Cycle Ride

Get Involved & Raise Money For The Charity Of Your Choice
10am to 5pm Sunday 14th September 2008
MK YMCA are giving you the chance to raise money for your favorite charity. The Open Charity Cycle Ride will take place on 14th September with the option to for individuals, families or groups to choose one of three routes around Milton Keynes. In addition there's also a special Child Route around Willen Lake so the whole family can join in.
The entry fee is £5 per adult, £2 per child or £10 for a family group. The entry fee goes to cover the costs incurred by MK YMCA in hosting the event with the remainder going to the charity.

Spring Into Action For RNID With A Fundraising Skydive
RNID is calling on the adventurous
people of Milton Keynes to put a spring in their step and sign up for a blooming
good time skydiving as part of the charity’s thrill-filled Spring fundraising
programme.
The
national
charity, which represents nine million deaf and hard of hearing people in the
UK, is
inviting people to register with RNID for tandem skydiving at an
airfield near Lewknor, Buckinghamshire. You’ll be safely strapped to your
instructor for the jump, allowing you to enjoy the breath-taking
views.
By signing up for RNID’s skydiving programme, which is free
to fundraisers who raise a minimum of £390, people can experience the
adrenaline-boosting feat of falling through the sky from
approximately 10,000 feet.

Milton Keynes Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is running a series of
Antenatal Health Promotion Exhibitions across the city, to enable
future mums and dads to meet midwives, health visitors and other health
professionals to get advice and information for a healthy pregnancy and
how to prepare for the birth and post-natal care.
Esther Valentine, Matron at Milton Keynes Hospital Maternity Unit,
said: "These events will help women to keep healthy during pregnancy
and encourage them to seek early antenatal care. Health promotion is a
significant part of maternity care, and the exhibitions being run
across the city are designed to help women prepare themselves for
giving birth and inform women about how to best look after themselves
during the antenatal period."
