Would You Like To Make An Offer To Charitable People?
It costs you nothing to make a special offer to members of the Charitable People Card project. As such it is a simple and effective way to promote you business. The main reason for the Charitable People Card is to raise much needed funds for charities in Milton Keynes, but it does this only by providing real benefits to the local companies that support the project.
There are 3 simple steps to making an offer that will be actively promoted on your behalf free of charge to members and people interested in the Charitable People Card.
- Create your special offer
- Commit to your offer
- Send us the details of your offer
Step 1 - Create Your Offer
You're going to have to come up with a new idea, because we want your special offer to be unique and something only available to people with the Charitable People Card. Ideally your offer should be simple and of obvious value to your customers. There are a variety of formats that your offer could take, but first of all think about what you want to achieve:
| Tip! - Before you start handing discounts out left, right and centre, your first thought should be "What Do I Want To Achieve?". You should look at your sepcial offer as an incentive for customers to do something specific. That "something specific"
should be; to try your business for the first time (attract new
customers); to buy additional products or service (create customer
loyalty); buy a particular item (shift slow moving stock); visit you at
a quiet time (use spare capacity); check a new product or service (new
product launch); in fact almost any thing your business does. |
Once you know why you're making your offer, choose an appropriate offer type.
Here are some ideas you might try!
- Buy One Get One Free -- this kind
of offer allows your customer to get a free product when they buy another
product. So, for example, a stationery business might supply two reams of paper for the price of one.
- Three For Two -- this
offer works in much the same way as the previous type but customers can
buy three products for the price of two. Often the tree products can be different and it is the one with the lowest list price that is free.
- Money Off
-- this kind of offer gives customers a specified monetary discount off
an order when the order value reaches a certain amount. So, for
example, they may get £10 off their order is valued at £100 or more.
- Percentage Off
-- here your client will be given a percentage off what they spend. So
they could, for example, get 10% off the total value of their order. A
minimum order value might apply.
- Free Trial -- with this kind of offer customer will be
given a free trial, perhaps on a service-based website or a
downloadable software trial. These offers are almost invariably time
limited, with 30 days being a common limit. Thereafter, there may be
the option to purchase at a promotional rate which again will usually
be for a limited period.
- Special Offer -- this kind of
offer is usually applied to products or services that are bought on a
contract basis. Here a consumer could, for example, get the first three
months of a broadband deal at a cut-price rate or they could subscribe
to a magazine and get the first four issues free. The term is also
applied by some retailers to specific promotional prices for specific
physical products.
- Free Delivery -- as the name
suggests, this kind of offer provides free delivery when the customer
makes an order. There are frequently minimum order values required.
- Free Gift -- in some cases, sites will offer customers a free gift if they spend over a certain amount or simply place any size of order.
Whatever you choose remember to keep it simple to understand.
Step 2 - Commit To Your Offer
Hopefully this is the easiest step of the three. All you have to do is agree with the following three statements:
- The offer you are making is unique to the Charitable People Card. Of course you might want to use special offers as part of your marketing promotion elsewhere. That's fine. All we ask is that the offer or offers that you include in your offering via the Charitable People Card are available only to holders of the card.
You ensure that the offer is genuine and is of real value. It is only ethically and legally right that any offer made as part of the Charitable People Card project should be an honest one. For guidance as to what is expected check out The British Code of Advertising, Sales Promotion & Direct Marketing .
- You commit to honouring the offer made. So long as we are aware of an offer you make, we will promote it on your behalf. If an offer becomes discontinued or has a limited life when it is first created, inform us and we will withdraw it from the current offers available to Charitable People Card members.
Step 3 - Send Us Your Offer
Once you are decided on what your offer is and you are happy to commit to that offer all you have to do is let us know about it and we'll do the rest. We will include your offer on this website and possibly detail it in other promotional materials. To this end please try and provide as much of the following as you can:
- A Title up to 10 words. e.g. Save £100 When you buy XXX, or Buy X and Get Y Free!
- A Description of your special offer including details of the product/service it relates to. This information may be in the form of one or more paragraphs and/or a list of features.
- Details of the Value of your offer. e.g. What is the normal price of the item under offer? How much is the additional free item worth?
- Your Contact Details including address, telephone number, website and email.
- A copy of your Logo suitable for inclusion on our website.
- A Picture representing the product/service you are offering.
Just gather as many of these items together and email them to
